Sadabahar (2024)

Synopsis

“Sadabahar” (2024), directed by Gajendra Vitthal Ahire, is a poignant drama that delves into the profound loneliness of widow Amrita Kothari, portrayed by Jaya Bachchan. Left alone after her husband’s passing and her son’s departure abroad, Amrita finds solace in her old radio, a bridge to cherished memories. When the radio malfunctions, her life turns distressing, symbolizing the fragile connections to her past. Bachchan delivers a compelling performance, capturing the nuances of solitude and nostalgia. However, the film’s execution falters with a somewhat predictable narrative and underdeveloped supporting characters. Despite these shortcomings, “Sadabahar” offers a heartfelt exploration of aging and isolation, making it a worthwhile watch for those interested in introspective cinema.
